How Can I Get Started With Therapy Sessions? At Nacre Therapy we prioritise finding the right support for your needs. If you believe we might be the right people to assist you, please start by filling in the referral form available on our website. Once submitted, we will review your information and get back to you as soon as possible. To ensure we are a good match, we offer a free 20-30 minute introductory call. This initial conversation allows us to discuss your specific needs and answer any questions you may have. After our call, we can mutually decide if we are the right 'fit' and, if so, arrange a suitable time for our first full session. This approach helps us to foster a supportive and effective therapeutic relationship from the outset.

Where Will Our Sessions Be?We are currently only offering online sessions, via Zoom.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?At Nacre Therapy, we understand that every individual is unique, with different presenting issues and personal goals they wish to achieve. That’s why we offer a range of therapy sessions tailored to meet your specific needs. Whether you’re looking for short-term therapy to address immediate concerns or long-term therapy for ongoing support, we’re here to help. In some cases, during the initial consultation, we may determine that a one-off session is sufficient to provide the insight or guidance you need. If you choose to commence sessions, you'll have the flexibility to decide the length and depth of your therapy journey with us. For both short-term and long-term therapy to be most effective, continuous attendance is essential. On average, we normally recommend beginning with six sessions and then reviewing our progress after every four sessions.
-
How Much Will It Cost? Each 50 minute appointment is charged at £80. Discounts are available for 'blocks of sessions' and some concessionary rates are also sometimes available; please see the 'Our Fees' page on the website, for more detailed information. We ask that payment is made a minimum of 24 hours in advance of each session, by bank transfer, and receipt of payment will act as confirmation that the session is going ahead.

How Often Should I Attend & What Happens If I Need To Cancel? At Nacre Therapy, we believe that therapy works best on a weekly basis and requires a certain level of commitment for it to be effective. Consistent weekly sessions help build a strong therapeutic alliance, facilitate continuous progress, and provide a structured environment for addressing challenges and fostering personal growth. Gaps between appointments, albeit sometimes unavoidable, can disrupt the flow and progress made through meeting at regular intervals. To ensure you get the most out of your therapy, we reserve an appointment time just for you, at the same time and day each week. This not only creates a dependable routine, but also ensures that you have a dedicated time slot for your mental well-being. If you cannot make a session, it's crucial to inform us as soon as possible to discuss rescheduling options and to avoid potential cancellation fees (more details can be found in our Counselling Agreement, provided prior to our initial consultation).

How Will You Ensure The Confidentiality Of Our Sessions? At Nacre Therapy, your confidentiality is of utmost importance. As a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), we are committed to keeping anything you share during our sessions completely confidential. This commitment is in line with the ethical guidelines set by the BACP, ensuring that you can speak freely and openly. However, there are some legal exceptions to this confidentiality. For instance, if there is a disclosure of money laundering or terrorism, we are legally obligated to report it. These specific exceptions will be thoroughly explained to you before we begin our work together, so you are fully informed and comfortable with the process. By prioritising your confidentiality and adhering to professional standards, we aim to create a safe and secure environment where you can focus on healing and personal growth.
